Michael Julius Kienzynski, age 76, of Merrillville passed away 2/18/2022.

Survived by wife of 32 years Judith Kienzynski (nee Kolodziey), children Kara Kienzynski and Michael Kienzynski, most loved granddaughter, Hailey Davis, godchildren, sister Barbara Sopczak, sister-in-law Alyce Kinzie and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and his fur baby Ziva. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Regina (Virgie) Kienzynski, brother Gerald J. Kinzie Sr., brother-in-law, Dan Sopczak and niece, Michelle Sopczak.

Mike was born in Gary Indiana and graduated from Lew Wallace High School. He served in the US Army as Sergeant in Korea in the Vietnam era. Mike retired from US Steel Gary Works. He was member of the American Legion Post 430, Knights of Columbus Counsel #9114, The Slovak Club and a Gold Card member of Gary Sportsmen Club. “IRON MIKE” loved his Chicago Bears and Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish. He most enjoyed spending time with his friends at the clubs.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, February 21, 2022, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville, IN. Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Fr. Ted officiating. For further information please call David or Mileva at 219-736-5840
