Michael Burge

Michael Dennis Burge of Hobart, Indiana born in Valparaiso, Indiana on August 6, 1950 to his father Myron Burge and mother Marjorie Burge passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the age of 71. He died peacefully with his beloved family by his side.

Mike graduated from Portage High School and went on to Indiana University receiving a degree in accounting. It was a great career because we all know how much he loves numbers. He then went on to be a caretaker, a perfect second career as we all know how much he loved taking care of people.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, his sister (Mary Lynn), and his grandson (Zachary Barnes).

Mike is survived by former wife and now cherished friend, Donna Burge; daughters: Melissa Burge, Renee Tilt, and Nicole Liddle (Stephen Small); grandchildren: Kyle (Brittney) Barnes, Jacob Barnes, Megan Kidder, and Audrey Tilt;  great-grandchildren: Damon Barnes and Cooper Barnes; brother, John Burge; nephews and niece: Jason Burge, Jeffrey Burge, and Tiffany Burge; friends: Deron, Peter, and Henry…along with many more

Everyone who knew Mike knew that he was an extremely kind, loving, gentle, and peaceful person that loved his family very much, and we choose to celebrate his life. We are beyond blessed to call him our Dad. There is no measurement big enough to explain how much he loved his family and friends. He is now at peace with our Lord and living a glorious life.
