Delores Frances Kuechle

Delores F. Kuechle, 93, of Crown Point, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021.

She is survived by her children: Nancy (Tom) Hornback, Linda (Tim) Wells, Sandy (Bob) Jackson, Carol (Fred) Curiel, DuWayne Kuechle, Doug (Laura) Kuechle, Debbie (Jim) Wahlstrom, and Michele (Lauris) Ackerman; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Florence Lahr, Millie Hutton, Roger Klein, and Virgil Klein.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Josephine Klein; her loving husband of 63 years, Alvin Kuechle; sisters, Beatrice Lahr and Geraldine Landwehr; and great-granddaughter, Emma Childs.


Delores was born on September 7, 1928 in Rockville, MN. She married Alvin Kuechle on June 12, 1948.  She had always strived to be active and influential in her community and church - in between raising 8 children, she won a write-in election for Village Clerk of Watkins, MN, served as President of Calumet Area Newcomers Alumnae Association, was a Member of Altar and Rosary Sodality, served on the Parish Council at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lansing, was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dyer, IN, and was a Youth Director and Trustee for the Catholic Order of Foresters for the State of Indiana.

Delores loved to travel, host parties, spend time with her family, and playing a good game of cards.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.


Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, October 3, 2021

4:00-8:00 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street Merrillville, IN 46410).  Prayer Service offered at 3:45 PM


A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church (321 Joliet Street Crown Point, IN 46307) leaving from Calumet Park Funeral Chapel at 9:20 AM. Entombment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Northwest Indiana.  Donations can be made online or by mail to the VNA Foundation at 501 Marquette St. Valparaiso, IN 46383.
