Leon “Lonny” Frederick Ort, 76, of Miller Beach, IN passed away on June 27, 2020. Leon was born on July 24, 1943 in Washington, DC to W. Frederick Ort, M.D. and Ellen Schwenk Ort. He leaves behind his sisters, Marla (Joseph) Schneider; Lauren (Michael) Ondra; Diane (Charles) Schaffer; stepdaughter-in-law Cheri Marquiss; and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother Anna Ort; his wife Diane (nee Kiel), who passed in 2007; and his stepson Jeffrey Marquiss.

Mrs. Julka Jovanovic, age 86, of Kouts, IN, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon February 22, 2020, at her residence.
She was born June 15, 1933, in Bresnicic, Serbia a daughter of the late Cvetko and Zorka Djordevic.
Julka was preceded in death by her two brothers, Milovan Djordevic, Radoslav Djordevic, one sister, Ljubinka Savic and two son in laws, Larry Sandlin and Dragan Jovic.

Kelly is a proud mother of two children Kyla (18) and Michael (15). She decided to become a funeral director after losing her father in 2014. She attended Ivy Tech and earned her Mortuary Science degree with honors in 2018. She is very passionate about her career and truly cares about her families, and she has a tremendous amount of empathy for everyone affected by the loss of a loved one. She believes that creating meaningful ways to pay tribute to a loved one begins with genuine compassion and is shaped by the understanding that each life is truly unique. In Kelly’s spare time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She is very active in fitness and enjoys working out and staying healthy. She is a member of the Lake Station Historical Society and is also a coach for the boy’s high school AAU league basketball team at the courts in Valparaiso.
