On Monday, May 10, 2021, Anneliese Frenken, loving wife and mother of five children, passed away at the age of 90 in Elkhart, IN.

Anneliese was born in Böcket, Germany to Johann Rainer and Maria Elizabeth Müschen between World War I and World War II. Anneliese met a dashing young blacksmith named Johann Frenken. In 1950, Anneliese and Johann married and had 5 children. Before moving to the United States in 1957 they had 4 children, Elizabeth McKee (Liz), John Frenken (Hans), William Frenken (Willi), and Annemie Branson (Anne). Settling into the United States was no easy task, but Anneliese had her loving husband and her children to help her through the transition and to learn the language. In 1971, Anneliese and Johann were blessed with another child, Ronald Frenken. Anneliese was a stay at home mother that loved her children dearly. When her kids went off to school, she waitressed at the Gary Steak House. Anneliese made a loving home that always smelled of delicious food, family would travel for miles just to get some of her erbse suppe or better known as split pea soup. Her home was always surrounded by beautiful flowers that she loved to tend to and Hummel figurines would line her shelves as she loved to collect them. Anneliese could often be found bird watching, creating amazing ceramic figures, cooking a big meal, or knitting gifts for her family. Anneliese was a devoted Catholic at Blessed Sacrament in Gary, IN and Saint Pius X church in Granger, IN.

Anneliese was preceded in death by her husband Johann, her son William, her grandson John Frenken Jr., her bother Heine and her two sisters, Maria and Finche. She is survived by her children Elizabeth, John, Annemie, Ronald, her 14 grandchildren: Christine Curtis (Chrissy), Michael Curtis, Billy Curtis, Mark McKee, Brian McKee, Jessica Kitterman, Heidi Marcelak, Jennifer (Branson) Solis, Rachel Branson, Jeremy Branson, Amber Branson, Randy Branson Jr., Madisen Frenken, Rylie Frenken, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 14th at 12:00 PM at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel (7535 Taft Street) Merrillville, IN. Interment Calumet Park Cemetery.
