Born – June 1st, 1925 in Widen West Virginia, the son of a coal miner Andras & Elisabeth Kish Fekete. The only son with 3 sisters Helen Nehring of California, Olga Linceone, and Violet Evans of Schererville (both deceased).

The family moved to Congo Ohio in 1930 and Andy finished his schooling, then joined the Army.

Andy served in the Army Air Corp during World War II as an Aviation Cadet and Airplane Mechanic on B17’s and B29’s from 1943-1946.

Andy Married Betty Wrase in June 1948 and then she preceded him in death in 1986.

Andy and Betty Hardin married on June 2, 1989 and lived in Merrillville, IN before moving to Lafayette IN, in 2004.

Andy was chief Elder of his church, The Hungarian Reform in Gary for some 30 years or so. Andy loved the Lord and his church.

Andy had many talents; he was an owner operator truck driver for steel transportation. He was a licensed gun smith for many years and enjoyed being a Lifetime member of the NRA.

He was also a glass cutter for Aetna Glass, worked for Gary Screw and Bolt, EJ&E Railroad, and Standard Oil. He worked for Midwest Steel as a Boiler Operator before retiring from Midwest Steel.

He loved Blue Grass Music and sponsored a blue grass band, Hasty Retreat.

He has 3 daughters, Rhonda & Randy Forney of TN, Cindy & Doug Bolton of TN, and Cathy & Jeff (deceased) Gordon of Lafayette, IN.

6 Grandchildren he loved: Randy & Chad Forney, Tiffany & Jon Epley, Douglas Bolton Jr., Katie & Don Dixon, and Casey & Ryan Cress.
