Ljubomir Blagojevic

January 25, 2021

Ljubomir Blagojevic, age 65 of Cedar Lake, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at Franciscan Hospital Crown Point.  Ljubomir, a longtime resident of Indiana was a member of St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Merrillville.

Ljubomir, or “Lubo” as many called him was born in 1955 in Batkovic, Bijeljina (Bosna) to parents Djordija “Djoko” and Ruza Blagojevic. At age 21, after serving in the JNA (Jugoslovenska Narodna Armija), he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he began working for A. Finkl & Sons Co. He remained with the company for 43 years. He was a dedicated, hard-working machinist, foreman and tool and die maker. He was loved and greatly respected by his co-workers.

Having established a career in the Tool & die Industry, he developed a passion for all types of machinery. Ljubo channeled that passion to invent products that successfully received patents.

Ljubomir was preceded in death by his parents Djoko and Ruza and his sister Ljubica.

He is survived by his wife Nada; daughter Ana; former spouse Grozdana; their daughters Svetlana and Vesna; brothers Mico and Spasoje “Bato”, and sister Milica. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be forever remembered and missed by all.

Ljubomir was Ana’s pride and joy, and always will be. Whatever she did in life, was to make him proud. She will always have a soft spot for him therefore she was happiest when she knew he was happy. He will forever remain in her heart (in everyone’s heart who loved him) and she will carry the life lessons he taught her for the rest of her life with her. She continues to pray for him and remember him. He would always call her “tatino sunce” (days ray of light). Although she may not hear those words as she once remembered, she will continue to achieve her goals throughout her life and remember his words and keep them close to her heart. I love you tata.

Uvek ces biti u mom srcu i mislima. Pocivao u miru. Vjecnaja Pamjat Rest in Peace, I love you, your wife Nada.
