John Figueroa, of Gary, IN, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at the age of 59.
He leaves to cherish his memory: loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Diane L. Figueroa; two loving sons, John H. (Ladrenna) and Michael J. (Margarita) Figueroa; his granddaughter Ava who he adored, along with his grand dog Bruno; four loving brothers, Henry (Frances), Ramon (Sue), Robert, and Frankie; four loving sisters, Lucy, Maria (Juan), Annie and Kathy; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Armenta and Judy Flores; and two brothers-in-law, Jesse (Isela) Flores and Tony (Janine) Flores; a host of nieces and nephews; many extended family members and friends, along with his best friend Steve Stofko. He was also raised by Henry C. (Michaeline) Woronka, sister Gretchen (Brent) and brother John.
John was born on February 1, 1961 to the late Enrique and Maria Figueroa. Also preceding him in death is his father and mother-in-law, Matias C. and Mary A. Flores.
In his free time, John enjoyed fishing, working on crafts, and lounging at his camper with family and friends. His number one priority was spending time with his family. As everyone knows, he was never one to say “No” to anyone who needed a helping hand. John will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Gary, IN) with a Chapel Service beginning at 3:00 P.M. Masks are required, and social distancing strongly encouraged. Inurnment will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery at a later date. For information call 219-980-1141.
