Emily D. Bachman

May 19, 2020
Emily Denise Bachman, age 53 of Cedar Lake, passed away May 19, 2020 at her home, under the care of Harbor Lights Hospice. Emily graduated from the Echo School for Special Education in South Holland, IL, attended the New Hope Work Center in Dolton, IL and the The Center for Possibilities in Hobart, IN. She was a Special Olympian winning many medals and awards in swimming, bowling and track and field. She once had the honor of carrying the torch. Emily was on a bowling league and a member in the Echo's of Hope musical performers. Emily's family meant everything to her and the love we all had for her kept us all connected. She was an avid music lover. She was the life of the party and was always the last one left on the dance floor. Emily had an infectious smile and an incredibly funny personality.  Our hearts are broken by her loss. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Emily  is preceded in death by her loving and dedicated parents Victor and Gwen Bachman; beloved brother and best friend Jim Bachman; and at rest in heaven Auntie Iris and devoted Uncle Earl Mayer.
Emily is survived by her loving and cherished family; Sisters, Jane (Stanley) Bird, Susan (G. G. Pique) Bachman; Brothers Hugh (Julie Starenko) Bachman, Jonathan Bachman, Nieces, Corey Jones, Victoria Jones; Megan & Brickell Bird, Gwendolen Bachman; Nephews, Eric (Samantha Kinsman) Bird, Cedwyn (Emily) Bachman, Joseph (Dana) Bachman, Ian, Alexander and Eli Gill, brother-in-law's sister, Gail Bird, and many great nieces, nephews and dear friends.
