Our mom was born June 23, 1968 in East Chicago, Indiana. Our mom’s parents were Helen Marie Tokoly (m. Sam Tokoly) and Robert Duvall (m. Beth Duvall). She has an older sister, Kathy Marie Maguire and a younger sister Janet Marie Caddell. In 1986 our mom graduated from Roosevelt High School in east Chicago. After that, she went to Purdue Calumet for engineering, like me.
Our mom met our dad, Marco Villanueva, and on Valentine’s day of 1992 he proposed to her. This past July they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. On October 18, 1998 they had me, their first child, Jennifer Marie Villanueva. Justin Anthony Villanueva, their second child my little brother, was born July 3, 2001. Our mom did everything with us. She took us on trips to beautiful places, we went to pez convention’s together, she helped my brother become an eagle scout, she never missed a softball game, tennis match, soccer game, or golf match, she was at so many softball practices that she basically became my personal pitching coach, she always encouraged us to be just as creative as she was, and she gave us every opportunity to do what made us happy. She was always our number one fan and was there for everything we did to support us.
She would always tell us about all the great memories she had with her family when she was younger. Now we have the gift of all the great memories she made for us as our mom. She made our home beautiful with every flower she planted, every good bye she gave before going to work or school, every good morning she woke us up with and all the love she filled our home with. She taught us how to be good people, to always be kind, to always show up for the people that love you, and I know I could never fit every amazing thing about her into this, but I know everyone that ever met her knows what an immensely incredible person she was and how much she loved us all.
She will be tremendously missed by us, our dad, her parents, her grandmother, sisters, nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces, sister and brother in laws, mother in law, all of her aunts and uncles, great aunt, all of her cousins and her friends who were family to her. Mom, it’s hard to imagine this future without you, but I know every second of love you gave us all while you were here will remind us to love unconditionally, appreciate every second of life, and take time to slow down and indulge ourselves in the magnificent moments life offers, that we may have taken for granted before. You can rest easy knowing that our huge, loving, family will always be here for Justin, dad, and me. We love you.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Marco, and her beloved children, Jennifer and Justin Villanueva. She was the cherished daughter of Robert (Beth) Duvall and Helen (Sam) Tokoly; dearest sister of Kathleen Maguire and Janet Caddell; loving granddaughter of Lanev Duvall; Sister-in-law of: Patty (Billy) Navarro, Elizabeth Villanueva, Cynthia Villanueva; Mary (Armando) Espinosa, Bobbie Jo (Feliciano) Luna, and Americo (Karla) Villanueva; man aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews from both sides of her family and many friends.
