Alfred Glenn "Red" Wilson of Calumet Township passed away on Friday June 28th at Gary Methodist hospital.
He served in the Army for 3 years, and was stationed in Germany for 8 months of that time. He had been a member of St. Ann's Church in Black Oak since 2012. In his later years he attended daily mass with his brother-in-law, Kenny Rhone, and he took great pride as the groundskeeper for the church. He enjoyed fishing, telling the many stories of his life, and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years: Sharon Kay (Rhone) Wilson; father: Ervin Lee Wilson and mother: Charity June (Harrison) Wilson; and sisters: Rose (Wilson) Hartman and Penny Lee Wilson.
He is survived by his 5 children: Jeffrey (Debra) Rhone, Christopher (Ashley) Wilson, Jesse (Ashley Stately) Wilson, Linda (Brandon) Sharp, and Michael (Chance McNamara) Wilson; 3 siblings; 11 cherished grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, loving family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, July 1st at 11:30 AM at St. Ann Church, 6025 W 25th Ave, in Gary.
